Funbongo and Albert joined Shipli Hoxton and her 'Unklejams' to watch Beckham return from the cold. The stadium is impressive but the burger prices are excessive.
Albert streaked onto the pitch and tried to punch Frank Lampard; he failed after being distracted by Brazilian Rudebox. Shilpi ate a pie, the Unkles smoked in the toilets and Funbongo discovered that the new Dizzee Rascal album it really good...
England Vs Brazil
Dizzee Rascal
Funbongo: Hip Hop Rule Number One: UK Rap is almost universally rubbish.
Albert Hoxton: Hip Hop Rule Number Two: Never record with Akon.
Funbongo Hoxton: Hip Hop Rule Number Three: Forget the rules... Dizzee has made a decent album.
Albert Hoxton: Fix Up Look Sharp
Funbongo: We have always respected Dizzee; he has always done things his way and had the odd moment of genius. His new album, 'Maths and English', is the first time he has actually created a credible AND enjoyable record. His first two efforts were too sparse and had you reaching for the skip button as his edgy production insulted your eardrums.
Albert Hoxton: Less grime and more melody has made this an album worth buying (he also not signed to a money grabbing major label). The guest appearances work well. Lily performs and Sheffield merges interestingly with East London when Arctic Monkey's Alex Turner pops along to up his street cred.
Funbongo: Not an amazing album but a really good and important one.
Albert Hoxton: I should probably say somefink like 'UK STAND UP"...there you go.
